“Do Not Worry”: A Moment of God’s Voice in a Special Needs Ministry

In this story from the KC Underground Network, Casey Olinger shares how he brings the Gospel to adults with special needs at Life Centers of Kansas. This day program helps participants build social relationships, explore the community, and grow in practical and spiritual life.

“I was amazed and in awe what Chris said that day… it was a confirmation from God.” - Casey Olinger

Casey felt God impress Matthew 6:25–34 on his heart, focusing on “do not worry,” and shared it with the group during a discovery Bible study. As everyone gathered, a shy participant, Chris, whispered the exact same phrase: “God told me this morning, do not worry.”

Casey describes being amazed and in awe, seeing God confirm His word through Chris. It was a clear reminder that God communicates personally and directly, even in unexpected ways. Breanna Wiebe emphasizes how this moment highlights the beauty of listening to God and engaging spiritually with those often overlooked.

This story underscores the principle that obedience, prayer, and attentiveness allow God to move in profound ways. Spiritual leaders who listen and bring His Word faithfully create spaces for others to hear God for themselves, experiencing encouragement, confirmation, and deeper connection to His presence.
