+++ I/DD Community
The Wonder Project exists to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities—and the families and staff who love and support them—live fully alive. We believe every person is fearfully and wonderfully made. Our hope is to see a Kansas City where people of every ability are known, valued, and welcomed into spiritual family, with room to share their gifts and grow in confidence in how God made them.
We make space for people to encounter Jesus through art, music, movement, picture communication, and accessible Discovery Bible Studies. Alongside these spiritual practices, we help individuals access resources and meaningful roles in community life. We also equip families, churches, providers, and neighbors to understand the I/DD community and build relationships where everyone can participate and belong.
Our work grows through friendship, shared joy, and a willingness to learn together. We envision inclusive gatherings, retreats, and opportunities for dignified employment—from a pop-up coffee cart to a future community coffee shop and hub. As barriers give way to belonging, people can dream, contribute, and flourish—and our city can experience a fuller expression of the image of God.
The Team.
