Serve Hub Financial Proposal

As our Serve Hub continues to hone-in more deeply into our unique calling as a Hub, God is unearthing a leadership reproducing/Hub Multiplication ethos and non-profit collaboration/influencing that seems to be the heart of why our Hub exists. Our proposal focuses upon funding more of this multiplying heart-beat.

Hub Multiplication:

When we speak of Hub multiplication, Zephan Allenbrand joined our staff as a Leadership Resident in July of 2023, and his ongoing work is opening up the birth of a new Hub, which should emerge in 2025 in Gardner (more details on this note below). We also already see another emerging leader, Haylee Whitson, who we are currently in conversation about  a 2-year Leadership Residency that will help to invest into her leadership in decentralized networks. Our Serve Hub will also collaborate alongside the For the Nations Hub so that she can grow in multicultural competency and ministry as well. Not only this, there’s a cross collaboration of Haylee also in talks with Apartment Life that would place her in an apartment complex where she is engaging as a specific context that will  include reaching immigrants and refugees.  We are grateful to come alongside and invest into these up and coming leaders in our city.

Non-profit Collaboration:

When we look back at last year in particular, it seems God has begun to grace us with opening up, influencing, and investing into a number of key city teams who now embrace and practice decentralized/micro expressions of varying sorts. The new partnerships that began in 2024 were Bloom International, KCK United, Youth For Christ, and Freedom Hoops. The Serve team has been instrumental in opening these relationships, training their leadership teams through Missionary Pathway Huddles, on ramping them into ongoing coaching, and seeing them begin to explore and thrive in microexpressions of church that are slowly but surely, taking place: Freedom Hoops 20+ youth basketball players are being mentored and shaped through weekly discovery studies; 4 Youth Detention Centers in different pockets of the city are experiencing discovery groups; KCK United has a handful of discovery groups and Morgan and Sara are coaching their leaders; Rachell and Morgan for Bloom are currently training a key leader in Thailand in all things Missionary Pathway Huddle!

Our Serve Hub is asking for $30,000 to fuel the emerging multiplication that is taking shape in 2025.

$20,000 of the above number will go to future “Hub Incubation/multiplication.”

$15,000 of that emerging multiplication has been happening in Gardner, and we will look to fully release and send Zephan and Taylar Allenbrand, along with the team they have been building, in 2025. There are micro churches already emerging in Gardner, and an official Hub team will be constructed in 2025 to help support, accelerate, and fuel the growth and vision of the Gardner Hub. We would like to be able to see $15,000 given to them as a “seedling” gift for their launch. We know the Lord is doing a new thing in Gardner, and it has been a joy to work alongside Zephan since July 2023, and we know there will be a new dynamic to continuing to work alongside them in the KCU ecosystem when they official become the Gardner Hub. We’re thrilled to continue partnering, blessing, praying, and supporting their efforts.

Another $5,000 of the emerging multiplication is requested as well, so that the Serve Hub can have a additional “seedling funds” ready to go for the next emerging leader to invest into, as we look to continue multiplying Hub leaders/Hubs in our city for the continued work of gospel saturation in all the nooks and crannies of our city.

The final $10,000 of this proposal is for 2 staff positions that help to support and fuel the city impact of Serve.

$5,000 will go for city networking, start-up initiatives through Morgan’s ongoing work in the city. Currently one of the exciting developments is with Youth For Christ and the work in the Wyandotte Detention Center. Their afterschool programs and post-incarceration discipling efforts are being influenced and visioned.

$5,000 will go to the Ongoing coaching needed to keep investing into the new disciple makers, orgs, and others who come into our nexus. Sara’s work here is foundational and will continue accelerate. Haylee will likely train some under Sara as will which will expand needed attention and focus.

We look forward to laboring in prayer, hope, and expectation of all that God will do this Fall through the fundraiser, and will be a joy to see how the Lord moves and provides for the network as a whole.
