MINISTRY NEED
Within the greater Metro area, we can track at least 70 distinct immigrant or refugee populations comprising nearly 100 different dialects and languages. The majority of these communities have very few Christians or churches, and even the ones that do are struggling to reach the younger generations. Our desire is to reach the unchurched international communities in Kansas City with the Good News of Jesus.
MINISTRY VISION
Two or More is a partnering Hub of KC Underground, which exists to see the Gospel planted in every distinct diaspora group in Kansas City, resulting in indigenous movements of disciples and microchurches throughout the city. KC Underground is a local missions organization and a network of reproducing disciples and microchurches that seeks to saturate Kansas City with the beauty, justice, and good news of Jesus.
MINISTRY PLAN
We reach international communities in KC by:
Recruiting, mobilizing, and training young immigrants and refugees (primarily through our soccer connections) to be local missionaries to the communities from which they come.
Starting simple “access ministries” (soccer camps, ELL classes, etc) in order to build relationships with international families, and to identify spiritually open leaders in their communities.
Launching discovery-based discipleship groups (called Discovery Bible Studies) with international families right where they’re at. Helping form these groups into ongoing simple expressions of church that are local and indeginous (called microchurches).
MINISTRY IMPACT
We envision during the next year:
To train and launch our first team of young immigrant and refugee students who are committed to be missionaries to their communities
To launch a soccer ministry as a means to engage various immigrant and refugee communities in the city
To see new Discovery Bible Studies (and eventual microchurches) started in 5-10 international people groups in Kansas City by the end of 2022
