Seeking God’s Beauty

Today, as the Underground, we come together in prayer and fasting. Every great move of God in the Bible and throughout history begins with Extraordinary Prayer and Fasting. From the other side of eternity, we will find that the most influential people were not, perhaps, Presidents or Prime Ministers but the people who walked with God through passionate prayer.

Strategic Focus: Seeking God’s Beauty

Today, we seek the beauty of God together.

Pray:

  • Pray for a deeper understanding and appreciation of God’s beauty in your daily life.

  • Use these moments of stillness and silence to connect with God’s presence, allowing His beauty to unfold
in your heart and mind in the next few minutes and throughout the week to come.

  • A growing awareness of God’s beauty reminds us that God is near. Why is this important? What does God’s beauty speak to your soul?

Sometimes, it is difficult to imagine the face of God, but there is glory around us every day. If we take time to be still and notice, we begin to see traces of his presence all around.

As you read the following Bible passages, ask God to expand your imagination and fill it with the awe and wonder of knowing God more.

Read:

  1. Psalm 27:4 - “One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.”

  2. Psalm 50:2 - “From Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth.”

  3. Isaiah 33:17 - “Your eyes will see the king in his beauty and view a land that stretches afar.”

  4. Psalm 96:6 - “Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and glory are in his sanctuary.”

  5. Isaiah 61:3 - “...to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.”

  6. Psalm 104:1 - “Praise the Lord, my soul. Lord my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty.”

  7. 2 Corinthians 3:18 - “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”

  8. Isaiah 6:3“And they were calling to one another: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”

These verses highlight the magnificence and splendor of God’s beauty, both in His creation and in His very being. They can serve as a source of inspiration and encouragement as we seek to appreciate and connect with the beauty of God.

Thanks:

Express your gratitude to God for the opportunity to connect with God and his beauty through prayer and through his word.

Beauty in Humanity:

God’s beauty is not limited to nature alone but can also be found in the kindness, compassion, and love displayed by people. Perhaps you are the beauty of God to someone when you show empathy and offer to help others in need. Pray God will show you someone to love in this way.

Beauty in Worship:

Explore the beauty of God found in different forms of worship, whether through music, art, or celebration. Express your gratitude to God for the ability to connect with God through these various avenues and ask for guidance to deepen these spiritual practices.

Take a few minutes to worship God, praising him for his glory, majesty, and splendor.

Carry this awareness of God’s beauty into your daily life and interactions with others this week. As God reveals his beauty to you, may you be the light in the life of another.
