Seeing the Light of Jesus

Pray

Heavenly Father, we come before you with open hearts and minds, seeking to see your light shine brightly in Kansas City. As we gather in prayer, may your glory be revealed and may we be empowered to be bearers of your light to the world.

Read

God is light. In him there is no darkness at all.  1 John 1:5

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples. but the Lord will arise upon you,  and his glory will be seen upon you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Isaiah 60:1-3

For anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore, it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you. Ephesians 5:14

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.  Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures. James 1:16

Reflective prayer

Begin by meditating on the imagery of light. Pray that God’s light would dispel darkness and bring clarity and hope to every corner of Kansas City.

Reflect on the call to arise and shine for the glory of the Lord. Pray that the people of Kansas City would be awakened to God’s presence and be ambassadors of His light.

Ponder upon the message of being children of light in Ephesians. Pray for spiritual awakening and revival in the hearts of individuals and communities.

Contemplate on the pure and perfect gifts from above. Thank God for His unchanging nature and His blessings upon Kansas City.

Just as we have heard that His peace passes all understanding, His love passes all understanding too. It is hard for our human brains to comprehend the idea of perfect, unconditional love. But He invites us in deeper and deeper...

Pray for a revival of faith and a hunger for God’s Word to spread throughout Kansas City.

Closing Prayer:

God, we thank you for this time of prayer and reflection. May your light continue to shine brightly in Kansas City, transforming lives and bringing glory to your name. Empower us to be ambassadors of your light, sharing the good news of Jesus to all we encounter. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
