Beauty, justice and compassion

Today we will focus on experiencing God’s beauty and embodying justice through love and service.

Prayer for focus and openness

Begin with deep breaths, quieting your heart before God. (2 minutes)

Read Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10

Prayer: Father, still my soul. Help me hear Your voice today. Open my heart to Your Spirit and guide me to love like Jesus in my neighborhood, workplace, and community.

Abide in God’s presence

Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. John 15:4-5

Pray for personal intimacy with God. Ask for a deepening awareness of His presence throughout your daily activities.

Reflect: Where have you experienced God’s nearness this week? Where have you felt disconnected?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me remain in You. Apart from You, I can do nothing. May my heart overflow with Your love, touching the lives of those I encounter today.

Loving your neighbor through beauty and service

Love the Lord your God with all your heart... and love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:37-39

Pray for the Holy Spirit to bring to mind specific people in your neighborhood, workplace, or network who need love, beauty, or encouragement. Ask God for opportunities to serve with tangible kindness—beautifying both spaces and relationships.

Prayer: Lord, teach me to love as You love. Let my eyes see the needs around me. Empower me to respond with compassion, offering not just words but my time and presence.

“Beauty is that which gives pleasure in the very act of being perceived.” —Thomas Aquinas

Raising up disciples with compassion and purpose

Go and make disciples of all nations... teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Matthew 28:19-20

Ask God to identify potential disciples—people He is calling to grow deeper in faith. Pray for boldness to invite them into discipleship conversations or community.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for calling me to make disciples. Show me who You are working in right now. Give me courage and wisdom to invite others to follow You.

Praying for justice and renewal

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8

Reflect on your neighborhood and workplace. Where are there opportunities for justice, mercy, and peace?

Pray for your community’s well-being—that justice and renewal would flourish where there is brokenness.

Prayer: Father, let Your kingdom come in Kansas City as it is in heaven. Empower me and my community to walk humbly, act justly, and love mercy in all our interactions.

Closing

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.
2 Corinthians 5:20:

Prayer: Lord, I offer myself to You as Your ambassador today. Use me to represent Your kingdom in word and action. Help me bring Your beauty, truth, and goodness into every space I enter. I trust that You are with me, guiding each step I take.
