All of creation will praise Him

The Bible is full of all kinds of imagery to help us envision certain aspects of God and the worthiness of him in our praise.

Envision what it would be like if all of creation praised God at once. Think about all of Kansas City praising God. All your friends, your neighborhoods and networks. God is worthy of this praise and adoration. Pray that he opens the eyes of our hearts to his majesty so greatly that we cannot help but praise him.

Read the following passages over a few times. Afterward, ask yourself:

What does this say about God?

What does this say about people?

What do these passages tell me about myself?

What action step can I take toward God today?

Psalm 150

Praise the Lord.

Praise God in his sanctuary.

Praise him in his mighty heavens.

Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.

Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord.

Luke 19:37-41

And then the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:

“Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”

“I tell you,” He replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”

Psalm 148

Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights above.

Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his heavenly hosts.

Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars.

Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies.

Let them praise the name of the Lord, for at his command they were created, and he established them for ever and ever — he issued a decree that will never pass away.

Praise the Lord from the earth, you great sea creatures and all ocean depths, lightning and hail, snow and clouds, stormy winds that do his bidding, you mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars, wild animals and all cattle, small creatures and flying birds, and all cedars, kings of the earth and all nations, you princes and all rulers on earth, young men and women, old men and children. Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.

And he has raised up for his people a horn, the praise of all his faithful servants, of Israel, the people close to his heart. Praise the LORD.
